I am a composer and pianist from Ireland and am now living in New York City. I am pursuing a DMA in Composition at Columbia University, currently studying with Zosha Di Castri, Georg Haas and George Lewis. My music explores a sense of place, both real and imagined, through acoustic and electro-acoustic means. My works have been performed internationally and featured at festivals including Bang on a Can and Huddersfield. Performers of my work include PRISM Saxophone Quartet, Bearthoven, Orkest de Ereprijs and the Wild Rumpus Ensemble. 2018 projects include commissions from the Kirkos Ensemble in Dublin, Real Loud in Brooklyn, and a brand new work for the International Contemporary Ensemble.
I play Javanese gamelan and am currently learning jazz piano for the first time. I drink Barry’s Tea almost every day of my life, a habit that didn’t stop even when I lived in Hong Kong. My gorgeous cat Saffron lives with me in New York City.
