I am an Asian-American composer and bassoonist whose works explore color, process, and acoustic phenomena. My music draws from a wide array of influences including minimalism, spectralism, folk, and electronic mediums. My compositions have been played by the JACK Quartet and members of the Bang on a Can All-Stars, and featured in concerts and festivals throughout the world including the Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival, Vox Novus/Composers Voice Concert Series, USF New-Music Festival, and the Dimitria Festival in Thessaloniki, Greece.

As a bassoonist, I love championing the music of living composers and have played with the Charlottesville Opera Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival, and Taneycomo Music Festival, among others. I am co-founder and co-artistic director of Terroir New Music, a concert/event series based in Tampa, FL that pairs contemporary concert music with local food and drink.

I’ve received a Masters of Music in Theory & Composition degree from New York University, and Bachelors of Composition and Bassoon Performance degrees from the University of South Florida. My primary teachers have included Julia Wolfe, Michael Gordon, Baljinder Sekhon, and Paul Reller.
